We have two programs for students in grades 9 through 12. Join us for one or both!
Eco-Leadership Academy
Tuesdays | 3:30 – 5:00 p.m.
Are you a high schooler who is interested in environmental studies and conservation? Have you ever participated in a science or environmental club? Join us to become a peer leader as we delve deep into the problems that face our local ecosystem, the importance of conservation and sustainability, and master your knowledge of local wildlife and flora. This four-session, seasonal program will culminate in the creation of a solution to one of our local conservation challenges. Participants will leave with a certificate of completion.

Envirothon Training
Thursdays | 3:30 – 4:30 p.m.
Envirothon® is an academic competition for high school students focusing on solutions to environmental and natural resource conservation. Incorporating STEM principles, hands-on learning, and outdoor field experiences, Envirothon fosters student learning in the areas of aquatic ecology, forestry, soils and land use, wildlife, and current environmental issues. Interested in competing? Put together a team of classmates and join one of our naturalists for four training sessions between January and April. These sessions will help to familiarize your team with the Envirothon process and provide information and facts that will help your team compete on the big day.

REGISTRATION STEPS
STEP ONE: Create an account. USING THIS LINK. If you have attended a program or supported FRNC in the past, we should have an account on file for you that you can recover using your email address and the forgot password option. If you are new to the Nature Center and our programs, you can create a new account.
STEP TWO: Register online. You can register online at the date and time of registration using using the link on our website or the quick links section in your system account. Be sure to click the box next to the desired Event Session day (Monday or Thursday).
STEP THREE: Pay through PayPal. Once you submit the online form, you will be redirected to PayPal to complete your payment. If you do not have a PayPal account you can still use the platform to pay with a debit or credit card. Your payment will be incomplete if you navigate away from PayPal before submission. We must receive the payment in order to process your application.
No refunds or credits will be given towards other programs, camps, or events if you cancel your enrollment. In the event you need to cancel, a tax receipt will be issued to you indicating that the program fee was converted to a charitable donation. Membership is non-refundable.
